Matti Hagelberg gave his special mention to the film Inside by Macedonian author Ivan Ivanovski, saying “the film portraits a psychological state in a most effective way and creates a feeling that lasts for a long time.” Katariina Lillqvist picked Lili by Riho Unt “for a puppet animation, which hits like a black death”, Anna Solanas chose Wings and Oars by Vladimir Leschiov from Latvia “because it makes me travel to a fascinating world.” Raimund Krumme gave his special mention to Croatian film Gulliver by Zdenko Bašić “for reinventing a well know story in a truly cinematic way”. Ron Dyens picked the Mermaid and the fisherman by King Rofusz from Hungary, for being “a perfect mix of sensibility of Giorgio de Chirico & Roland Topor's warmth”.
